New Horizons!

I have fallen in love with being my own boss, filling orders from my etsy shops and being creative full time. My time off from substitute teaching has been well-used and I have decided (once again) that this is my goal - doing crafts full time as a business. I'm still subbing, but being more selective in the jobs I take.
I have recently become infatuated with the Stampin' Up company. I really feel they are a good mesh with my Tangled Moons business on etsy. I've had an increase in requests for additional embellishments, such as inside boxes, waterfall slides, tags or other personalizations. Stampin' Up has such unique stamps that are perfect for this. I still use the Cricut for tags, but the write setting always gives me hollow letters which I need to fill in myself. Sometimes this is good if I want a little glitz, but sometimes, I just want a solid word. Stamps are better for this.
Today, I attended a Stampin' Up event at the home of Pam Staples, now my up line in the Stampin' Up company. I am now an official Stampin' Up demonstrator! I can't wait to get my first package of supplies. Stay tuned for my first video coming soon. I will let you know when I set up my official business website. And, watch for this newest Thanksgiving explosion box which should be added later to Tangled Moons on Etsy.
I am also rearranging and thinning out my craft room to make room for my own Stampin' Up events. An ordeal, but it can be done! I have a Zentangle class coming up November 7, so that is my goal date right now.
In the meantime, I had fun trying out Pam's stamps and her tag punch today to make tags to go with some of my explosion boxes. I used the chocolate stamp pad and the Vintage Leaves and the Paisleys & Posies stamp sets. I colored one tag so far with Prismacolor Pencils and inked the edges to give it a more aged look. I will finish more of these this weekend during the ball games. What a fun weekend so far! My alma mater, ECU, even won today. Go Pirates!
