Day seven of the Knit-Along and my progress is a little slow due to being under the weather this week. I'm on the mend and back to the knitting. I love the colorplay in this yarn as well as the softness. There is a little purple that peaks in occasionally with the rust and green shades. So far, I'm loving the way it looks. I've found that the Classic Shades does stretch a little when blocked, and it is loosening up the further I get with it. Here are two updated photos to share with you. I'll have more to show later. I'm going to knit tonight while cheering on the Buckeyes with Henry. Whichever team you root for, enjoy the games.

I started my Sherwood sweater Saturday, but don't have much to report as of today. The pollen is out in full force and I spent half the weekend trying to use up every tissue in the house. I am only six rows into the bottom border now, but the yarn is knitting up beautifully. I'm using Color 721 Chili Pepper and love the rust shades with just a hint of purple. I can't wait for the green to start working its way into the pattern. I'm still staying inside as much as possible, although during the day at school, there's not much getting away from the yellow stuff. Our air conditioning has not been turned on yet this year, and my classroom windows get all of the afternoon sun. Even with the ceiling fans going, I have to relent some days and open the one window in the room that I'm able to open just to get a breeze going. And, with that comes the pollen. Hence, my discomfort. I'm going to take it easy tonight and see if I can get into the Stockinett Stitches. This is an easy pattern and it should go fast. I'll post pictures every few days. If any of you are knitting along with me, send in your pictures and I'll be glad to post them.

The Irresistible Ewe is hosting its first Knit-Along. We're going to knit the sleeveless sweater, Sherwood. This is a free downloadable pattern on the Universal Yarn website. The picture features the colorway #704 Reef, but you can use any of the many beautiful shade combinations. I'm planning to use Chili Pepper myself which I think will be more in my shade range. The pattern is great for beginners. My mom has already started and reports it is knitting up beautifully. We're officially starting Saturday, March 19 so there is plenty of time to order yarn. I'm planning to add a new colorway to the list, Tutti Frutti, so watch for that one as well. Hope you'll join us for the fun.

I have no name yet, but right now, I'm just chilling out with the cat, waiting for Kathy to finish me up. I still have a few spots that need touching up before my flight out to Missouri and my new owner, Kaydee. Can you believe I'm made out of old clothes? I'm a Closet Monster. Kathy found the directions in a great new book called Closet Monsters: Stitch Creatures You'll Love from Clothing You Don't, by John Murphy. He's a great guy and really understands what a good monster needs. So, if you have old clothes that you just haven't been able to part with, now you can make them into a loveable monster like me. Check out the new slide show below for more pictures.
